Dream 10X Episode 76: An Interview With Bryan Post
Remember that there are only two primary emotions: love and fearBryan Post, ‘From Fear To Love’, pg. 39
My Human Summary
As mentioned in previous posts during my 52 book-reviews-in-as-many-weeks challenge, I am using some Machine Learning models to help generate these blog posts, as exemplified by the 5-point summary below.
But for this episode, I wanted to also write my own quick summary of this podcast.
As mentioned in this episode’s video/podcast, I met Bryan Post at a Mastermind event 4 years ago (seems like just last year!). He graciously agreed to come on our podcast and share some more of his experiences and insights starting and running many businesses over the course of his (mostly) successful career.
But as he is quick to point out, not all of his businesses have been successes.
Being an entrepreneur means getting back on your feet and trying to run again, for (in the words of Richard Browning) keeping this crazy journey moving ever forward.
A key aspect of starting any entrepreneurial journey is personal risk assessment. Taking a hard look at what is acceptable to risk, in your case, is an important exercise before taking that first (next) step before entering the casino (so to speak).
Many entrepreneurs are willing to risk just about everything in order to achieve their dreams, and they can be your competitors.
Bryan points-out that it takes a certain level of energy and commitment to the game in order to win at it. Finding that commitment level, while also balancing attention to your health and energy (and family life), will be a constant struggle during your journey.
Add that to all the other insurmountable struggles you must overcome along the way.
As in any human pursuit, lose, win or draw, your story-about-the-journey’s the thing…
Five Key Takeaways
- The importance of emotional connection and self-awareness in daily life and relationships.
- How neuroscience and artificial intelligence can be used to better understand and manage fear and love.
- The growing need for in-person mental health services due to the stresses of virtual communication.
- The potential for AI to disrupt traditional mental health practices, including the need for human connection.
- The benefits of nature exposure and its ability to reorganize one’s life and senses.
